Laure Descamps works as a scientific researcher in the Department of Pharmaceutical Engineering at Ghent University. She obtained a master's degree in Drug Development and Industrial Pharmacy before starting her PhD under the guidance of Professor Thomas De Beer in the Laboratory of Pharmaceutical Process Analytical Technology (LPPAT). Currently, she is finalizing her PhD and has begun a postdoctoral research under the supervision of Professor Ashish Kumar. Her expertise includes tabletting processes, material characterization, and pharmaceutical powder grinding.
During her PhD, she closely collaborated with Janssen Pharmaceutica to investigate powder adhesion to metal in tabletting machines (sticking) and characterize compression properties. Her current research, in collaboration with Janssen Pharmaceutica, focuses on predictive modeling of pharmaceutical powder grinding based on mechanical properties.
